The Ballad of Matthew’s Begats

Over at Russell Moore’s blog this past weekend, he posted an article entitled Andrew Peterson’s “The Good Confession.” The article is about the impact that the song had on Dr. Moore while he was on vacation.  I am always interested in finding new artists, so I opened Itunes and looked him up.  I enjoy his music and downloaded several of his CDs, but there was one song from his Christmas CD that really struck me a fun, so I thought I would share it with you.

The name of the song is The Ballad of Matthew’s Begats.  The song cleverly recounts the genealogy of Christ from the gospel of Matthew.  Here are the lyrics:
