Monday Morning Prophecy #74 – Kings and Rulers Would Oppose the Messiah

Introduction

The coming Messiah was going to have some strong enemies. Indeed, the rulers and authorities of the earth would oppose Him.

Old Testament Prophecy

The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One. [Psalm 2:2 NIV]

New Testament Fulfillment

But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus. [Matthew 12:14 NIV]

Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, and they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him. [Matthew 26:3-4 NIV]
