Ways To Connect at Kidmin Conference 2014

ConnectGroup’s Kidmin Conference starts tomorrow, and one of the hallmarks of this conference is the opportunities it provides to connect with, and reconnect with, people who share a passion for reaching kids for Christ. Here are some ways you can stay even more connected:

  • Just stop and talk to people. You’re not sitting next to someone on a plane who would rather bury their face in a book. You’re surrounded by people who would love to talk to you about children’s ministry or anything else. They’re probably just too shy to initiate the conversation, so you go ahead and do it.
  • Connect on Facebook. There is a very lively, active and growing community on Facebook for people attending Kidmin Conference. If you haven’t already, join it at https://www.facebook.com/groups/GroupKidmin2013Attendees/829866357053572/?notif_t=like.
  • Kidmin Conference has an official Facebook page too where you can get great information about the event at https://www.facebook.com/kidminconference
  • Come to our Unofficial Pre-Conference Meetup on Friday, September 26 in the Convention Center Food Court. We’re meeting from 11:00 to 1:00 so you’ll be done in time to make it to Friday afternoon Ministry Conversations (details at https://www.facebook.com/events/1452925674994813/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming)
  • If you’re more of a night owl, or coming in later on Friday, join us Saturday night at 10:30 until whenever for another Unofficial Meetup. We’re still ironing out the details, so you can keep up on the plans at https://www.facebook.com/events/1476613492614192/?ref=2&ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming.
  • Join the Group Kidmin Conference Cluster Photo Group. Here are instructions on joining from Group (https://cluster.co/i/JHFLCK)
  • Check out the twitter feeds from all of the presenters at Kidmin here https://twitter.com/GroupKidMinConf/lists/kidmin-2014/members.
  • Join a Connect Group. They are a great way to meet people who share a similar ministry or environment as you. I think I am going to check out the Men in Ministry Connect Group.
  • Follow me on Twitter at @stocksohio. I’ll be tweeting live throughout the weekend.
  • Check back here regularly at Dad in the Middle. I’ll be blogging all of the workshops I attend as well as parts of the general sessions.
  • If you’d like to connect with me, I would love that. Leave a comment here. Shoot me a message on Twitter or Facebook or roam the halls looking for me. I would love to meet you and chat.
  • If you have any interest in how you or your church can be ministering to children from modern families and disrupted homes, that’s my ministry and my passion and I would love to sit down with you and talk through that. If you have a success story from your church, I would love to hear that too. Maybe we can put together our own “Unofficial Connect Group” on Ministry to Modern Families. Smile
  • I’ve gotten word about a couple of other opportunities to connect that you might want to take advantage of. I may be at both time permitting:

There you go, now you have no excuses for not connecting! I hope to meet you at Kidmin Conference sometime over the next four days!

  1. Thanks Wayne! It doesn’t look like your link to the Cluster is working. Can you use this link? Thanks!

  2. Yay it works! Thank you!

  3. Thanks for the tips! But the link for the dessert reception takes me to Jon scuff?
