Well, yesterday was Day #8 and the final day of Orange Week 2.0. The vast majority of the posts encouraged people to register for Orange Conference 2011. That said, Kenny Conley hit a new high for the week with the number of his posts yesterday. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of Orange Week both here and on Kidmin1124. I’m looking forward to participating in future endeavors as well. With that said, make sure you don’t miss the final posts from Orange Week 2.0:

Day 6 was a day for Orange Dreams and was, unfortunately, not a day with a lot of posts. Barbara Graves and I both posted about dreams over on Kidmin1124.com, but there wasn’t a whole lot of other activity. I did pick up a late post from Kenny Conley on Orange failures that didn’t make yesterday’s list, and Jonathan Cliff weighed in with his favorite posts from the week. Here are the posts that were put up yesterday.

A week ago Thursday and Friday was the 2010 Orange Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Sponsored by the ReThink Group, the conference focuses on all things children’s and family ministry. Over 4,000 people involved in children’s ministry showed up and learned from the conference. Unfortunately, I wasn’t one of them. I was grateful that many of those who did attend shared what they learned through twitter and their blogs. On Saturday, I posted My Favorite Tweets from Orange 2010, in this post I shared all the blog posts related to Orange 2010 from the last week or so. Last Monday, I posted an initial listing of blog posts from Orange 2010. However, as the week progressed, a number of bloggers started to post additional thoughts and notes from Orange as they unwound after the conference. So, I decided to do an update this week. The posts included in last week’s update are in a normal font below.

This past Thursday and Friday was the 2010 Orange Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. I had originally intended to include these posts as part of tomorrow’s Children’s Ministry Blog Patrol for the month of April. However, given the 85 or so articles related to the Orange conference, I decided that these posts warranted their own showcase. I tried to weed out the blog posts related to contests during the conference and announcements of live feeds and get together that are already over, but some may have slipped through. If you appreciated the work these authors did to help educate those of us who could not be there, leave them a little love in the comments on their blogs!
UPDATE: JUST A FEW MERE HOURS AFTER PUBLISHING THIS “COMPREHENSIVE” COMPILATION OF ORANGE POSTS, MY GOOGLE READER RSS FEED IS ALIVE WITH NEW INSIGHTS AND POSTS AS PEOPLE DECOMPRESS AFTER ORANGE. I EVEN STUMBLE ACROSS A COUPLE OF BLOGS THAT I HAD, FOR SOME INEXPLICABLE REASON, NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY FOLLOWING. SO, CHECK BACK NEXT MONDAY (I AM GIVING EVERYONE A WHOLE WEEK) FOR AN UPDATE TO THIS LIST WHICH WILL INCLUDE THE ADDITIONAL POSTS. HAPPY BLOGGING!

A least a two of my favorite bloggers posted articles from the Orange 2010 Conference this past week which referred to the Orange Conference this year as “drinking from a fire hydrant” because of the overwhelming amount of information they received. As someone who was not able to attend the conference, I was left to follow people on twitter and their blogs to pick up some of the wisdom second hand. I suppose that mean in my case, Orange 2010 was more like a fender bender than a collision, but I still lapped it up. I have been retweeting like crazy, and I thought I would accumulate my favorite 140 character or less nuggets of wisdom in this post. Here they are, in the reverse order I how found them (i.e., newest tweet listed first):Read More
