Monday Morning Prophecy #37 – The Messiah Would Teach in Parables

Introduction

Last week we looked at the prophecies that the Messiah would be revealed to a people not seeking him. Additionally, the Old Testament tells us that the Messiah would teach in parables. Due to the large number of parables used by Jesus and recorded in the New Testament, I have not included every instance of teaching in parables below.

The Jews waited hundreds and thousands of years for their promised Messiah, but the Old Testament prophecies indicate that the Messiah would be revealed to a people not even seeking him.

Introduction

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve looked at a number of people who rejected Jesus. The Old Testament also clearly prophesies that the Jewish people would reject their Messiah.

Old Testament Prophecy

But I said, “I have labored to no purpose;

Yet what is due me is in the LORD’s hand,
