It’s been a while since I suspended the Saturday morning video segment of this blog. I can’t promise a video every Saturday, but I’ve found so many good ones that I wanted to start sharing them again.

This is a fun little video that depicts the story of creation. I used it several months back with our Kindergarteners and First Graders, and it was a hit!

I have quickly become a fan of the group Go Fish. There songs are meant for children but are enjoyable for adults as well. That makes it perfect music to listen to on long road trips. In this particular video, they put the ten commandments to a catchy toon.

My favorite moment is in the story of David and Goliath where the narrator says, “It’s like he had some sort of cheat code.”

The Fun Theory – Bottle Bank Arcade

The “Fun Theory” is an initiative of the Volkswagon company. Their site explains that the initiative is based on:

“…the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better. Be it for yourself, for the environment, or for something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it’s change for the better.”

While I don’t know that I agree wholeheartedly with the theory, I do think there is something to the idea that making something fun will encourage people to participate. It is a theory that I follow in Children’s Ministry all the time. That’s why I decided to feature the three videos from The Fun Theory over the next three weeks.

This third video asks the question “Can we get more people to throw rubbish into the bin, rather than onto the ground, by making it fun to do?”

This video comes from Seeds Family Worship. There specialty is putting actual scripture to music. Their music is catchy and memorable. I have all of their CD’s and enjoy them regularly with my kids.
