I wanted to take a second this morning to introduce you to a brand new resource launching today for the children’s ministry community. The goals of CMBox are:

Help facilitate churches being able to Stretch their Budgets
Aid Ministries locally and abroad with publicizing their needs
Bless both Churches and Ministries by providing a Connection Point to deliver FREE and Reduced Cost Resources

What’s in the Bible? Curriculum – Your Chance to Win

Several months ago, I reviewed the first DVD in the new series from Phil Vischer called What’s in the Bible? You can check out that review here. Over the last several months Amy Dolan and her team have been working tirelessly to develop a curriculum to go along with the wonderful videos. The curriculum officially launches this week, and they have graciously offered to allow me to give you a free copy. Here is how it works:

In celebration of the What’s in the Bible? Curriculum release, Buck Denver, MAN OF NEWS, wants to have his picture taken with You!

Download Buck’s Picture (click here to download the picture), and take a creative picture with you and Buck! You can take a black & white photo, or color in the photo, or show off your crafty skills and add buttons, feathers, and glitter! Buck would love that! A John 3:16 Craft for Kids

The following is a little craft I threw together for my wife last week to use with the kids in her Wednesday night Cubbies class (ages 3 and 4). Their verse for the week was John 3:16, so I made a cross with pictures they could color before constructing the craft. Kidmin1124.com is actually a site which I am the editor of which features a collection of highly respected authors (present company excluded) who write about volunteer issues all from the perspective of volunteers and bi-vocational children’s ministers. Of course, that made naming him the winner feel a little bit like picking your best friend first when picking teams on the playground Smile , but since it was based on a random list generator, I don’t feel quite so bad.

Today, I wanted to take some time to review the album. It seems to me that the best way to do that is song-by-song, so that is what I am going to do. Before I do that though, I wanted to make some general observations. First, I am not the type of person who usually likes a CD in its entirety right out of the box. There are a handful of CDs where I can honestly say I really like all of the songs, but for most of those there were at least a couple of songs that took a little while to grow on me. I can honestly tell you that the first time I listened to this CD from front to back, I fell in love with the songs. I love them as someone in children’s ministry who can definitely use them in class. I love them as the father to a daughter who really likes Yancy. Most importantly though, I just love them myself. I could, and will, listen to this album whether the kids are around or not. To me, that is an essential element in good children’s ministry music – it relates to both kids and parents. So, without any further introduction, here is my song-by-song review:
