CMConference – Come For the Conference, Stay for the Party
Next week, I have the pleasure of speaking at the very first CMConference in Louisville, KY. I’m presenting a workshop called Kids in Crisis: How to Minister to Children from Modern Families on Thursday at 2 P.M. (in room 212). Here’s the workshop description: “Today’s modern families are different, and the church needs to keep up with those changes. In this workshop, we will define family, look at how family has changed, and explore the impact of the modern family on faith and how your church should adapt.”
If you’re anywhere close to Louisville (w/in 300-400 miles), you need to come. The conference starts Wednesday afternoon (pre-conference activities are available) and officially runs through Friday night. The line up of speakers is top notched (present company excluded), including people like Jim Wideman, Michael Chanley, Beth Guckenberger, Andy Kirk, Karen Rhodes, Linda Ranson Jacobs, everyone’s favorite aussie David Wakerly, the Bonnie Deroski, Yancy Richmond, let’s not forget Bo Harrington and many many more. In fact, you can see the whole lineup at http://conference.cmconnect.org/#speakers and the schedule at http://conference.cmconnect.org/schedule/.
I’d love to connect with you if you’re coming, so make sure to comment below, email me, find me on Facebook or Tweet at me to let me know!
The best part is, it’s not to late to sign up! Just go to http://conference.cmconnect.org/ and get registered today. This conference was born out of the CMConnect online community for those serving in children’s ministry.
Here is how the organizers (i.e., Michael Chanley) describe the event:
CMConnect’s Children’s Ministry Conference is organized in a church and for the Church. Unlike any other conference, it’s designed to meet the specific needs of those attending and to solve problems you face in your church.
It’s a custom built event for you!
When you register, we will ask you to share with us: “ONE THING you need help with in your ministry.” Then, we will help you get an independent and authentic answer, with no hidden agendas.
Our community is here to serve you; we hope you will join us and bring your team!
And, that’s not just talk. I know Michael and I know his heart for serving those who work with kids. This is a brand new conference, but I’m comfortable that it will not disappoint. Get in on the ground floor, expand your ministry, broaden your horizons and join us for this very special event!!!
Oh yeah, the Party?
Every spring, at the start of the Derby Festival, Louisville hosts the largest fireworks display in North America. During the day there is an airshow; then at night, the fun really starts! Yeah, it’s pretty huge!
The Children’s Ministry Conference was strategically planned to coincide with this event. The conference ends on Friday night. Thunder Over Louisville begins the next morning!
A group from the conference (including me) will be hanging out in the city and taking it all in. It’s going to be a great opportunity for fun and fellowship. Plans on where to meet up once will be announced at the conference.
If you were wavering, this ought to put you over the edge. Register today!
