Introduction
in a very specific prophecy about the day of the crucifixion of the Messiah, the Old Testament warns that the sky would go dark during the crucifixion.
Old Testament Prophecy
"In that day," declares the Sovereign LORD , "I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight. [Amos 8:9 NIV]
New Testament Fulfillment
From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?”–which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” [Matthew 27:45-46 NIV]
