If I timed this blog entry correctly, there is an exciting new resource for children’s ministry folks which has just been announced by Michael Chanley. Michael, who is the brainchild behind CMConnect.org has done it again with his brand new resource:
Imakidmin.com is a visual way of seeing where people are located geographically. Have you ever wondered where all those great people you’ve met online are actually located, now you can see at a glance with Imakidmin.com.
Here is how Michael describes the site:
imakidmin is a fun new way to help Children’s Pastors network with one another. Because all of our free zones are maps one can easily find other kidmin peeps in their area… the point is simple: to help you build community with other kidmin leaders in your region!
This resource is brand new and will continue to grow. Given Michael’s track record with CMConnect, I have no doubt that the site will continue to grow and become a valuable resource to the kidmin community at large. Currently, there are visual pictures for:
- The Globe
- The United States
- US – Kentucky
I know for a fact that they are planning to add new states weekly until they are all included. I see three potential, and very valuable uses, of this site:
- To find local kidmin people who live near you to allow your relationships to grow from just online to offline.
- To find kidmin people you might want to connect with should you be traveling.
- To browse and find other kidmin folks around the country and around the world.
So, what’s the downside you ask? As I explained to Michael, every since I heard the name of the new site, I can’t get the “I’m a big kid now!” song out of my head.
Thanks to Michael Chanley for all the hard work he has done in putting this resource together.
