Jorge,

Thanks for your comment. I gather that you grew up in a Christian family and have since rejected that tradition. That was one of the reasons I wrote this particular article in the first place. As parents, we have to teach our kids how to think not what to think. Personally, I want my kids to have their own faith - not one I've superimposed on them. I encourage them to ask tough questions and wonder why things are the way they are. It's not about conditioning kids, but it is about giving them enough information to make their own decisions.

I would be curious to learn more about your own decision to walk away from Christianity. Was that a decision based on a thorough study of the facts and scripture, or was it a reaction to what humans have done. No doubt, Christians through the ages have committed atrocities in the name of their religion, but real Christianity is not about religion (a set of rules and regulations to earn our way back to god), it is based on a relationship (with Jesus Christ who dies for our sins so that we do not have to). I would encourage you to go to your Bible not to see if the people around you were right, but to find out about the God that the Bible reveals. Do not hold the shortcomings of His people against Him.

If you have further questions or comments, I would love to discuss them either here in the forums, or I can give you my e-mail address.

Take care, and thanks for visiting the site.

Sincerely,

Wayne

Funny how christians write a article about this. "I use to be a christian and a political pawn the bible is right and all your native cultures are wrong. " From birth I didn't have a choice in what I wanted to believe like many other supposed christians, My parents taught me what their parents taught them and so on down to the generation in which the white spanish people imposed their religion on my ancestors the mexica/aztecs all because they viewed us as heathens/ devils. Well anyways my parents in posed their religions beliefs on me by giving me the ideal of reward and if non believe a consequence that of hell, fire, lucifer/satan. So I grew up to believe in this book and the stories it had that until my curiosity had grown I learn about the history of christianity, human nature, and the knowledge that people had back then. That is when I did learn the truth and left christianity and became a secularist agnostisist and since then I have fed my mind " reality is nourishment" Knowledge helps me fight off superstition. Also the Ideal of a god or a higher power have been left to be unknown and we don't know who he is we just come out with ideals and philosophies solemnly based upon hat we know and our superstitions. How about if we have something better like having grown kids deceived what they want to believe in? when your mind is fully develop and you have a ideal of how the word works instead of conditioning them into belief since birth?

This is coming to you from your favorite secularist heathen.

Hi wayne,

I came across your 22 ideas when I go into "Kidology".
The ideas will be useful for me in leading the children cells that I'm currently doing, which will involve lots of facilitating with questions.

God bless.
